Meet Queenie

Queenie is a very special 5-year-old French Bulldog who is looking for a very special home.

We don’t know much about Queenie’s past but it’s clear that she didn’t have the best start in life. As a result, she can be uncertain in new or unfamiliar situations and needs someone who will understand her, give her time, and allow her confidence to grow at her own pace.

Once Queenie learns to trust someone, however, she forms an incredibly deep bond with them. She looks to the people she trusts for reassurance when she is unsure, and she has so much love to give in return. Beneath the uncertainty is a truly affectionate, loving and funny little girl who really does have the biggest heart.

Queenie is looking for an owner who understands that helping a dog takes time, patience, consistency and understanding. She needs someone who is prepared to listen to her, respect her boundaries and work at her pace rather than expecting her to change overnight.

For the right person, the reward will be enormous. Watching Queenie gradually rebuild her confidence, learn that she is safe and develop that special bond with her person will be incredibly rewarding. And when Queenie feels safe, you’ll discover what a loving and fun girl she really is!

For now, Queenie needs an adult-only home with no other dogs, where she can have the time and space to settle, feel secure and rebuild her confidence without the pressures of sharing her home with children or other dogs.

Because of Queenie’s history and the strong bonds she forms with the people she trusts, the rehoming process will need to be approached carefully. Any prospective owner will be asked to have several meets with Queenie over a relatively short period of time before a decision is made. These visits will give Queenie the opportunity to get to know her potential new person gradually, build trust and allow our rehoming team to make sure the relationship is developing in the right way.

Her new owner will also need to be fully committed to following the advice and guidance provided by our rehoming team. This will be an important part of helping Queenie settle successfully and ensuring that she has the best possible chance of a happy future.

Queenie won’t be the right dog for everyone — but for the person who is willing to give her the time, patience and understanding she needs, she could be an incredibly special companion.
