Meet Bertie – our lovely, larger-than-life Collie cross with the biggest heart (and possibly the wiggliest bum) around.

At around seven years old, Bertie’s story began with a mystery. Found as a stray, he arrived without a past but with endless hope for the future. Whatever his early days held, they certainly didn’t dull his spirit. From the moment he feels safe, his true personality shines: joyful, affectionate, and wonderfully friendly with everyone he meets.

Bertie is the kind of dog who believes there are no strangers — only friends he hasn’t leaned against yet. He greets the world with a wagging tail, bright eyes, and an enthusiasm that’s impossible not to smile at. His gentle nature and easy going charm make him a delight to have around, whether he’s out on a stroll or simply relaxing at your feet.

And then there are the bum scratches.

If you want to see Bertie at peak happiness, just reach for his lower back. The instant wiggle, the delighted lean, the blissful expression — it’s clear that “bum scratches” are, without question, his favourite thing in the world. He’ll happily position himself for optimal access and could stand there all day soaking up the attention.
