Newcastle to South Shields
This year we are excited to have our biggest Great North Run Team yet and we are looking for runners who can raise as much as possible to help the many animals in our care.
If you would like to run for us in 2026 and could raise at least £300 in sponsorship, please get in touch with [email protected]. We will send you a sponsor form and a Durham Dogs & Cats Home running vest to wear on the big day and we have a meet and greet tent at the end where you can celebrate your achievements, meet friends and family and enjoy some well dererved refreshments. You can also set up an online fundraising with Enthuse when you register.
If you are lucky enough to secure your own Great North Run place through the ballot but would still like to raise money for Durham Dogs & Cats Home, please get in touch, we’d love to have you join the Durham Dogs & Cats Home team. We will happily send a running vest and you are welcome to come back to the finishers tent after the run.
Easter Dog Walk

Charity dog walk raising much-needed funds for our dogs and cats.
Route 1: approximately 3km, mostly flat
Route 2: approximately 5.5km. with a bit of an incline
Entry: £5 per dog, all dogs get a goody bag and certificate!
